Hermetic Poem by Stanley Kunitz

The secret my heart keeps
Flows into cracked cups.
No saucer can contain
This overplus of mine:
It glisters to the floor,
Lashing like lizard fire
And ramps upon the walls
Crazy with ruby ills.
Who enters by my door
Is drowned, burned, stung, and starred.
